Who we are

Operating in the business of transporting goods since 1994, FTL (Freight and Transit Company Limited) acts as a one-stop-shop for the export and import for air and sea cargo. We excel in providing a full range of logistics solutions and services to businesses worldwide. FTL has been present in the logistics industry for the past decades and has resisted the test of time, through our personal service, expert knowledge of freight forwarding and project cargo (management).

        At FTL, we are committed to ensuring compliance of health & safety regulations as we believe in the safety and wellbeing of our employees and visitors. Our approach consists of: 

        • Compliance with all international standards pertaining to our field of activity
        • Creating a trustworthy environment for our partners
        • Establishing a proper risk assessment with respect to technicity, visibility and transparency
        • Educating our employee community about safety at work

        We take pride in adopting sustainable business practices. One such example is our commitment to a paperless environment. In order to reduce our environmental footprint, FTL adopts a ‘Paperless’ communication policy.


        At FTL, business functions are executed through an internal intranet capable of facilitating communication online, without the use of paper. Moreover, all emailing systems and document management systems are fully automated online, to ensure minimal printing and paper wastage.


        This year, our aim is to reduce:

        • Consumption of paper by 15% through our paperless communication policy
        • Toner usage by 15%
        • Our use of fuel by 5% by increasing the efficiency of our distribution channels/despatching

      • Quality Assured

        Since our incorporation, FTL has embarked on a quality journey positioning customer satisfaction and improvement of our services at the heart of our business. Thereafter, FTL was one of the first freight forwarder to be certified: 

        • ISO 9002:1994 (Quality systems) in 1998
        • ISO 9001:2000 (Quality management systems) in 2002
        • ISO 9001:2008 (Quality management systems) in 2010
        • ISO 9001:2015 (Quality management systems) in 2016

        FTL is also an active member of the Professional Freight Forwarders Association in Mauritius and an IATA/FIATA registered agent.

        Our quality policy focuses on 4 main poles, namely:

        FTL shows its commitment by adhering to strict functions ensuring we are in compliance to key ethical standards and global practices. Remaining faithful to those, has allowed greater return for our customers, our employees and for the community at large.


        The code of ethics is a document signed by the new employee and forms part of the employment contract. It defines the values that we cherish, explains the conduct expected as well as the responsibility involved in the execution if the tasks attributed by his role within the company.


        At FTL we adopt strict reporting practices on good governance with regard to annual board meetings, corporate performance reporting and the subjection to both internal and external audit, which ensure ethical business practices.


        We also encourage an open door policy and have several means of encouraging two-way communication between employees and management.


        In order to be accountable to the highest standards, FTL offers total transparency to anyone wanting to know about our operations.

      • Our Social Responsibility

        Our company recognises the importance of conducting its business in a sustainable and responsible manner.


        As a member of Eclosia Group, FTL, through Fondation Solidarité, has adopted a structured CSR program.


        Our main objective is to help vulnerable groups through a 2% of its chargeable income of the preceding year as stated in by the law.

      • This year’s projects:


        Fondation George Charles, in Pointe aux Sables


        Created in 1982, the nonprofit organisation for  persons with intellectual disabilities began its activities with 6 children only. At present, it welcomes approximately 70 children and young adults who attend daily.


        Their mission: to integrate these children/young adults with a view to promote their integration on the technical side, academic, sports, etc. in daily life. The NGO is aligned with the following SDGs:

          • Goal 4: Ensure inclusive and quality education for all and promote lifelong learning.
          • Goal 10: Reduce inequality within and among countries.

         

        Centre d’Eveil, at Cassis


        The shelter caters for children who live in the vicinity of Pointe aux Sables, from 8.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m., 3.30 p.m. to 6.00 p.m. With the help of Caritas, the shelter shall ensure the proper development of the child through a series of art and academic workshops including music, painting, drawing, literacy and pastry.

         

        Their mission: to develop the sense of children from their earliest age to integrate quickly into the normal school system.


        The NGO is aligned with the following SDGs:
           • Goal 4: Ensure inclusive and quality education for all and promote lifelong learning.
