Communiqué Strikes In France - 01/02/2024
Dear Valued Customer,
We would like to inform you about the current situation in France that may affect our shipment operations.
French Farmers' Protests:
The French agricultural community is presently engaged in protests, advocating for improved remuneration for their produce, streamlined bureaucratic processes, and safeguards against cheap imports. These demonstrations have resulted in road closures and traffic disruptions across the country, with tractors utilized to impede major thoroughfares. While the French government has introduced measures in response, the two primary farmers' unions have continued their protests, asserting that the government's proposals are inadequate.
These demonstrations are anticipated to impact our container positioning and pallet pickups. Nonetheless, our partners are diligently managing your shipments to minimize any adverse effects.
French Union FNPD CGT National Strikes:
The French Union FNPD CGT, representing Ports and Docks, has declared several national strike days in February. The union remains steadfast in its opposition to pension reform and insists on the fulfillment of commitments made.
During the forthcoming week 6, all French ports will be affected by the following strike days:
February 5th: Closed from 10 am to 4 pm
February 7th: Closed all day
February 9th: Closed from 10 am to 4 pm
These strikes may result in delays and operational difficulties in port-related activities. Our team is closely monitoring the situation and is committed to minimizing any impact on your shipments.
Recognizing the critical importance of efficient logistics to your operations, we assure you that we are exerting every effort to navigate these challenges.
Should you have any concerns or require further clarification, please do not hesitate to reach out to our teams. We'll keep you of any future developments as soon as possible.
Thank you for your understanding and continued partnership.
Best regards,
FTL Team
